Hello all!!
First thing, I have to announce the arrival of our new nephew, Lucas Jett, on Sunday Feb 21 @ 10:32am. He weighed in at 8lbs20z and was 21 1/2 inches long! He is absolutely perfect! He makes the cutest little newborn noises! And he fits ever so perfectly in your arms. And he is ever so cute! We are going over to visit him this evening, and I can't wait! My arms are aching to hold him again!! We kept his big brother, Eli, while Mom and Dad were in the hospital. And I have to say that he did great! It was his first time ever staying away from home without his parents with him. And he did really good! So, Mom, remember that, if you guys need a night away ever, Eli does great at his Aunties house, and we will spoil Lucas rotten!!! : o )
I have had a crazy work week this week. Had requested the entire week off, but wasn't able to get it. So I worked Monday, had Tuesday off, worked Wednesday, and then have today and tomorrow off. Which I am really looking forward to. Kel also has today, tomorrow and Monday off. Which is great. Monday is my birthday. (I also tried to get Monday off, but wasn't able). We are having a spa party tomorrow. We had one back in November. I really enjoy it. Cause you get to pamper yourself without the cost of a high dollar spa. (now don't get me wrong, I do love me a high dollar spa package everyone now and then - with my fav thing being a massage!!) And you also can purchase items so that you can continue to pamper yourself whenever you need, at a price much more within budget. If any of you have never attended one , I suggest you do. (if you live close and wanna come, let me know. I have been a slacker on inviting people) Or better yet, host one (that way you get free stuff!!). If you are interested in checking things out go to www.beauticontrol.com and see what you think. You can find local consultants and all that right there. If anyone is interested in just purchasing something, you can always just do that. And if you wanna purchase something, and you know, wanna help me get more free stuff : o ) you can go here www.beautipage.com/amylynch and then just order from her online page and I can get credit (and again, more free stuff!!) : o ) My fav items are the instant manicure stuff for your hands - I love how it leaves your hands feeling. With all these kids, and trying to prevent germs, I wash my hands ALOT -and then the fact that we don't have a dishwasher. So, hands are in water a lot, and dry and cracked. And the instant manicure stuff really helps. And it smells good. And I also really like the Save Your Sole
rich Sea Salve for Feet. It is like foot crack - you know, crack for your feet, your 'cracked' feet! hehe We also have some other stuff - stuff for your lips, the skin care line, and also the Vitamin C capsule things for your face. Ok, so now I am sounding like a broken record. With all this rambling, maybe I have talked someone into boredom so much that they have decided to check out the website! haha
Oh, and we are making margaritas for the party tomorrow. And I can't wait! Really looking forward to relaxing and drinking a couple of margaritas! And then afterwards, I think we are going to go out to dinner with some friends. A great way to celebrate my birthday. Drink some margaritas, get pampered and then to dinner with good friends!!
Alright, I am gonna go. Need to get Lil Miss up from her nap so that we can get ready to go and love on baby Lucas! (did I mention how stinking cute he is?! I think I did!! And that holding him makes me want another one? no, I didn't mention that, cause I am trying not to let that feeling take over - and anyways, that is another post all together. I will get to that soon) : O )

Is it considered child labor....
to pay your kids to do housework? :0) Cause I think we may have found something that works! I have two wonderful boys, named Jarrod and Jayk, that did an AWESOME job cleaning house last night! And I plan to utilize them in this way every night - that is, if they want to earn more money. Which they do! So, this is a win win situation!!
Wanna hear something so warm and fuzzy that it could melt all this snow we have outside? Caelyn is just the sweetest lil thing ever! And she loves Gryfinn EVER so much! Last night, her and I run to the store to pick up a few things. As we were leaving the store, I asked her if she wanted to go see Grandma and Uncle Doug - and she responds 'Gryfinn do!' She never leaves him out! This morning, when she woke up, she told Kel that she wanted to see me. So Kel says ok and tells her that she will get her some milk and cereal and then they would come downstairs and see me. She asks her if she wants the Spngebob cup or the football cup, and she replies Spongbob. Kel gets her some milk, gives her the cup, and then turns and pours her some cereal. Walks in the living room and hands her the cereal. Caelyn looks at her and says 'ChocIT yum yum' (Gryfinn has always called chocolate milk yum yum, and Caelyn has picked this up) and Kel gets ready to ask her where her cup is, and out walks Gryfinn with the Spongebob cup of milk. Lil Miss Mommy there did not want the Spongebob cup for herself, she wanted it for her brother! How sweet is she?!! Just talking about her makes me wanna go and squeeze her! Buttt, she's napping, so that will have to wait!
Wanna hear a funny story? Kelly went in the bathroom to go potty. And of course Gryfinn is following, talking talking talking - so Kel lifts up the lid, sits down and gets a surprise. An ice cold surprise. Right on her bottom! The water is filled all the way up to the rim of the toilet. Mr Gryfi had gone to the bathroom, and apparently used WAY too much toilet paper. He then tells her 'It wouldn't go down so I stuck the whole thing right in there!' Yep, he stuck the whole roll of tp right into the toilet. She said it was a mess. I can't help but laugh. But, only because it wasn't me! lol
Conversations to avoid.
When your pre-adolescent son says "Huh, that feels weird!" Just ignore it, cause if you say "what does?" You might get this "Carly is purring on my nuts" as an answer. So, just ignore it.
If your tween boy gets caught scratching himself - just walk out of the room. Cause if you engage in a conversation, he might tell you "my balls just get all sweaty" - so just walk out of the room.
Now, don't be alarmed, we don't condone talk of balls and/or nuts. We discourage this. But these are the kind of things that they learn at school from their peers. And yes, they are boys. Once they learn about them, that is all they talk about. Drives a Mom CRAZY!!!!
Wanna hear some super exciting news?! We will have a new nephew on Sunday! Our sis in law is scheduled for a c section Sunday morning at 10!! And I can not even begin to express how over the moon excited we are!!! I can't wait to hold him! My arms are aching to hold a new baby! Ever since our dear friend Shannon had gorgeous lil Hayden, my arms have been aching to hold a new baby. So, I just can not wait to hold our new nephew and shower him with some extreme Auntie love!!
Ok - I think I am done rambling for now. I really have so much more to say - but I think I shall quit for now. That way it keeps you coming back for more! :0)

The Story of Snow (in pictures)
We have had soo much snow. Three BIG snow storms in 10 days. It just keeps coming. We thought we were done, that the snow was going to be south of us. But, as with everything else - that changed. It moved into our region this morning. And has not stopped snowing yet. North of us was supposed to get 4-6 inches, south of us 6-8 inches. So I think it's safe to say that we will atleast have 6 inches. On top of the 17 or so we already have - we are at about 2 feet of snow - and that is not the areas that have drifts, and, IT'S STILL SNOWING!!!! It's crazy. Really crazy.
And we have actually gotten pic's of all 3 storms. YAY us!!
Feb 5 - Feb 6 - our house

our tree in our front yard

me, snowblowing - it was HORRIBLY cold. the wind
was bitter cold

Jaykie shoveling - it was so cold that he only did
the porch and gave up

I love this snow!

It was completely like a winter wonderland at his house. As soon as we headed down his lane, it took my breath away! It was like a winter fairy tell, a snow princess palace or something. And the farther back his lane we got, the more beautiful it was! It really truly took my breath away!

This is what is happening RIGHT NOW!
You can see from the pic's above - the road was clear, we had a path on our sidewalk - but now, that is not the case. The roads are covered, the sidewalk is covered, the cars are covered. Chances are, the kids will get another snow day. And they will LOVE that!! There is word that another storm may hit us this weekend. I sure hope this is just a rumor! I do enjoy some good snow - but, sometimes, enough IS enough - and this is one of those times.
Hope all of you are staying warm and cozy!! We are doing our best. Even though I say I am done with all the snow - it is just soo beautiful. And so peaceful. I love how quiet everything seems. And my favorite thing, is looking out at the untouched snow under the street lights, and seeing it sparkle. Reminds me of when I was a kid. I remember thinking there were diamonds in the snow! And I love watching the snow fall to the ground under the street lights also. So even if I am done - I am still mesmerized at just how beautiful all this snow is!

Thank You!!
I want to tell each and every one of you thank you for your thoughts and prayers. It means so much to me!
The surgery went good. The first part took 2 hours. The first surgeon went in through his abdomen and cleared the path, removed what was left of his discs. The second part took 3 more hours. This surgeon flipped him over and went in from his back to place the metal cage around his spine. Both surgeries went good. The second surgeon told us that he had a mild case of scoliosis and he went ahead and fixed that while he was in there. He was in recovery for about a half hour when they let us go back and see him. He was doing good! In a bit of pain, but that was to be expected. He said his back hurt about the same as before, it was his stomach that was giving him fits. After they got his pain under control and his vital were stable they moved him to his room. When I left he was getting ready to watch some American Idol. I talked to my Mom this morning (she stayed with him) and she said they have him sitting up some (last night he was flat on his back). He has had some jello, and will be on a clear diet today. They plan to get him up and walking *** just got a text from my Mom, they have him sitting on the edge of the bed, and he is hurting pretty bad *** She said that he wants to put some clothes on. He's tired of the hospital gown. He is doing much better than we all thought he would. From what the dr's told us, we expected him to be howling and such from the pain. But, he is a trooper, and we should have known better. He is not one to howl at pain. He just takes it all in and goes with it.
Surgery is over, now just the recovery. He has a long road, but it will all be worth it.
His daughter is doing good. Her leg is still hurting, but she is sooo much like her Dad, and she just goes with it. Not one to piss and moan about just anything. That's how when she fell, that we all knew it was serious. For her, if there is a complaint, she's hurt, if there's tears, it's bad. And there were tears.
Oh - and on top of everything else - I think our total accumulation of snow is like 17-19 inches. It snowed last Friday into Saturday. By the time the roads were all finally clear, it started again Monday night. As of last night, the total was 16 inches in our area, and we were supposed to get 1-3 more inches over night. It is crazy! The kids have had 2 snow days and are loving it! I have pic's from over the weekend - I will try and post those later.

Prayer Request
My brother, Doug, is having surgery today, at 12:30 est. If you pray, please say a prayer for him. If you do not, please take a moment and think of him.
He has had issues with his back for years. In 2008, they went in and repaired a couple of his discs. That surgery did not fix the problem. It actually did him no good at all. He has a degenerative disease, and his discs are pretty much gone. If they go in and repair them again, they say it is like placing a patch on a bald tire. Not so much doing any good. So - they are going in and removing the discs and placing a metal cage around his spine. He will be in the hospital for 3-7 days after surgery. The first two weeks will be hell, and his dr said he will be saying that he wished he never had the surgery. But after those two weeks, he will start to feel better. But he is not allowed to work and his on disability for 6 months, and he will not be fully recovered for atleast a year. So it's going to be rough. Oh, and not that he didn't have enough on his mind as it is, but last night, at her basketball game, his daughter broker her leg. So - if you could, would you please pray for him. It would really mean a great deal to me.
