We leave tomorrow - and our plan is to leave at 5pm. We hope to drive for 7-8 hours, stop for the night, and then get up and be on the road again by 7am. We are heading to the Outer Banks of NC - and the word is that the traffic is hellacious if you are not there by noon. And I really do not want to be stuck in traffic, on a bridge, with all the kids. So, I sure do hope that things go as planned. But, being the mother of 4 kids, I know even the best laid plans are usually botched in some way or another. So, I excpect things to not work out, but hope that they do.... if that makes any sense.
We will have tons of pictures and I will post them when we get back. I am sure that I will also have lots to say about our wonderful vacation also!

My Beautiful Caelyn
I took these pictures on Tuesday with my phone. It was the end of my work day, and Caelyn was sitting in her bouncy seat. She was way excited, and her arms were waving around like crazy. (they are blurry in some of the pic's) She was all smiles, and I just had to capture just how magical her smile is!

M.I.A
Yes, I have been M.I.A.. Life has just been so very busy. And finding a moment to blog just has not been high priority. I have wanted to, there has been so much I have wanted to say - so many things to blog about - Jayk's birthday, Gryfinn's birthday, Caelyn and how much she has grown - Jarrod being gone at his Dad's for a whole week for the first time in almost 11 years! See, there has been so much that I have wanted to blog about.
Here is a quick recap - Jaykie is now 8!!! It is so hard to believe. He was just 2 years old when Kelly and I got together. Even though I wasn't there when he was born, and I unfortunately don't have the rights as "Mommy" as he has another Mommy - he is mine. I don't really remember life before he and Kelly were apart of it. I know there was a time when it was just Jarrod and I, but it seems so distant now. I really feel like our life as a family began when we became one together. Anyways, his party was great! It was at Putt-Putt. I will post pictures as soon as I upload them.
Gryfinn is now 2! Which is also hard to believe. I can't believe it has been 2 years since we were blessed with his birth. And my how he has changed! He is talking so much these days! Repeats everything - so we are watching our language ever so closely!! You ask him how old he is - he will say 1, and then eventually say 2. But he will tell you how old Jayk and Jarrod are, and then he will just look at Caelyn, and say oh baby! Since he repeats everything, he now will call Caelyn 'purdy girl' as that is how I refer to her sometimes. Back to his party. We just had it here at the house. It was Backyardigan themed. He had a great time, and got lots of great stuff! He was way into wearing his party hat! And he would make us all wear them too! On his acutal birthday - July 29 - we went to Chuck E Cheese! We had a great time there - ate pizza and played lots of games! He was also way into the birthday crown he got there. He actually wore it for days! I would have to take it off of him when he was alseep. His favorite present was his Pablo and Uniqua - they are just little action figures, but he just loves them! They go everywhere with us these days. In the tub, to bed, to the store! It's too cute!
Jarrod is at his Dad's for the week. He had mentioned way back in April, before school was out, about wanting to stay with his Dad during the Summer. Then it was that he wanted to stay for a couple of weeks, and then maybe a week, and then he never mentioned it again. He had also mentioned it to his Dad, so his Dad had mentioned it to me, also back in April. Which of course was fine with me, especially since we want him for an entire week at the end of August to go on vacation. And it is easier to get what we want if we give some too. The thing with Jarrod and his Dad is that although he loves his Dad, and his Dad is a good Dad, he does not want to be there that much. Especially since his Dad has to work during the day, and he will be with his Stepmom all day. And he is not too thrilled about that. But - that is another blog for another day. Anyways, he is there, and I am missing him like crazy. And so is Gryfinn. He was kissing his picture today. So we called Jarrod. And he told Jarrod "miss you" and he kept kissing the phone. And then would not give the phone back to me or Kelly. And ended up hanging up on him. And then looked at Kel and said "more Jarrod"! I told Jarrod that I am missing him like crazy. That I am ready for him to come home. But that I know his Dad is enjoying him being there. And he said "my Dad isn't even here during the day. It is just Layla and the kids". That was his way of saying that he doesn't think he should have to be there. Boy I sure do miss him! I need a Jarrod hug n the worst way. Is it Sunday yet??
Caelyn has just grown so much! She is now about 10 1/2 pounds and close to 23 inches. And she is just smiling like crazy! And we have gotten a few giggles out of her now too! My heart has just grown ever so much since she has joined our family! She sleeps through the night now - goes to sleep around 9pm, and wants to be snuggled for a little while, which I love! I will lay her in her cozy-sleeper (that is now in her crib) and she will sleep until atleast 5am, sometimes later. And she is nursing great! During the day/waking hours, it is every 3 hours. It is hard to believe that she is almost 2 months. Time has just gone so fast.
We are going on vacation at the end of August. We are leaving on the 22nd. We are going to drive at night, which will be something new. But we thought it would be best for the kids, especially the little ones. And I told Kel, since Caelyn sleeps through the night, we could really get some good driving done. And we wouldn't have to worry about entertaining the little ones as much. We are going to Corolla NC, which is in the Outer Banks. I am way excited about it! We have rented a house. It is considered 3rd row housing. Their are houses directly on the beach, then a road, and the house we have rented is on a cul-de-sac. And it is the 2nd house in the cul-de-sac. The way the houses are set up, we will be able to see the ocean, and hear it! I can't wait! Our house has an inground pool, horseshoe pit, volleyball pit, hot tub, and balconies all around the house! It will be a vacation like we have never had before! Thanks to Kel's brother and sister-n-law - they are going and split the cost of the house with us.
I know I have been horrible at blogging, but I am going to try and do better. key word : try :-)
