Life has been super busy. I think this has been our busiest Summer to date. With 3 boys playing baseball, 2 of them on select teams. Life has been all about baseball. We wake up thinking about baseball and we go to bed thinking about baseball. Our weekends have been taken over by tournaments. It has been wonderful, but super exhausting. And it has made this Summer fly by! Is it really August already?!!
Jarrod's surgery is tomorrow. He is nervous. I am nervous. I know things will be
ok. But, even though he is nearly 14, he is and always will be my baby. We have to be there by 6:30am, and his surgery is at 8am. I will update on him tomorrow!
I already talked about
Jayks happenings with his ear. It has been a rough go for him. But he really truly is feeling better. There were days where he would do nothing but lay around, with either a heating pad or just a rag held up to his ear. I am so glad he is feeling better!
We celebrated
Gryfinn's birthday at a local dairy farm. The kids all played, and fed the animals, and we all had ice cream! It was a lot of fun. We had his actual party yesterday. We had to squeeze it in after baseball tournaments. It was a
Phin.
eus and F.
erb party. And he was super excited about it! Kelly has been teaching him to read. He has known all of the letters and their sounds for awhile now. She started off with some sight words, and he memorized them with ease. He is now sounding out words and reading short stories. And it amazes me. Jarrod and
Jayk were both smart, but
Gryfinn just blows me away. He absorbs so much, and he is so eager to learn more. Each day he asks to do his work books, or to do work on the computer. He loves it. And I love watching him learn. He really truly does amaze me! And I really think he will do great in kindergarten. His screening is on the 24
th and his first day is the 30
th. I am really excited for him, but it makes me a bit sad. Cause, really, he IS that big. And I also know that Sis will be lost with out him with her all day.
Caelyn is just a trip. She is just all around fun. She always has us laughing. Whether it's the things she says or the things she does. And she is so rotten. And sneaky. Well, she tries, but she always gives herself away. For instance. She wears pull ups to bed at night. If we put it on her ahead of time, she will pee in it. The other night, they had an early bath, and so her pull up was on already. But we try to stay on her, so she won't pee in it. Kelly asked her, "
Caelyn, did you pee in your pull up?" She looked right at Kelly and said, "No (pause) Don't check" Dead serious, no smile. But we couldn't help but laugh! And then on another day, I was in the basement, and she came down stairs with a
popsicle, and wanted me to open it. I asked her where Mama was, and she said she's in the shower. So I put her on my back and carried her up the stairs, opened her
popsicle, and decided I would go ahead and pee before I went back down stairs. Since it was just us at home, I left the door open. I was sitting on the toilet, talking to Kelly in the shower. And
Caelyn comes sneaking down the hallway, and runs into
Gryfinn's room. She then peaks out at me, and whispers "Don't tell Mama!" And I lost it. Kelly said that yeah, she had already had several
popsicles and was told that she couldn't have anymore. So what does she do? Mama gets in the shower so she comes and asks Mommy - who has no idea that she was already told that she couldn't have anymore. And would have been none the wiser, if she hadn't given herself away, but telling me not to tell Mama was a bit of a give away! Sneaky she is not!
A few funnies that my kids have said! ( I have been writing things down, to keep track, but I have lost the notebook that I was writing them in. So these are the few that I can remember off the top of my head ~ I plan to do a post JUST on the kids and the silly/sweet things they say)
Yesterday, during
Gryfinn's party, he asked me for some city crackers. And I was like,
hmm, city crackers, what is he talking about? And then it hit me... we had town.house crackers for the cheese ball. Town ~ City. I love how his brain works!
When Jarrod was 5, and
Jaykie 2, we went to Florida. Kelly and Jarrod were out playing in the waves while
Jayk and I played in the sand. When Kelly and Jarrod came in, Kelly was telling me about the big ass wave that knocked her down. About 20 minutes later, Jarrod asked Kelly if they could go back out, cause he wanted to play in the ass waves again! That still makes me giggle!
The kids watched G Force last week. And the next day, out of nowhere,
Caelyn busted out with "I'm not fat, I'm Fluffy!"
And that comment leads me to my healthier life style. I guess you can say that I have 'falling off'. I would like to blame it on baseball season, and being so busy. But, all in all, that is just another excuse. I have lost 38 pounds, which is great, but it really should be so much higher by now. But, like I said, I fell off. I have maintained my weight for the most part (which means, one day, I will be at a 38 pound loss, another day it may be a 35 pound loss - but I like having lost 38 total more than 35 total, so I just go with 38 :). Which is good. But, I really want 'that' number to get lower and lower and lower. That number that reads on the scale. Yeah, it needs to get lower. Cause quite frankly, I'm
not fluffy.
Now, that leads me to something else. With having gained
sooo much over the years, and that gaining being caused by pregnancy. And my belly being
sooo big during those pregnancies, and so stretched out. That now that I have lost weight, that my skin feels,
hmm, what's the correct word? Saggy, maybe? Excessive? Right now it isn't
too bad, but I know once I lose more (which I WILL!) that it will be worse. Anyways, it feels weird, like when I touch it. With the extra skin, I don't know, it's hard to explain.
And while I am talking about losing, we should also talk about my boobs. Cause with the weight that I have lost, I have lost some of my boobs. Which I don't mind, I had more than plenty, but if I had to choose, I would say lets lose the boobs last. Ya know? Cause when the boobs are bigger, everything else looks smaller. It's like they become the focal point. They take away from the belly, the muffin top, the love handles.
Hmphf - too bad I don't get to choose.
Ok, now that I have rambled on quite randomly... I think I shall go. Yes, I am going to go get on the treadmill. Sweat my ass off, or
at least sweat like a pig and hope some of my ass is falling off! :o)
