height: 29 inches (50th %)

The nurse commented on how tiny she is and asked if she eats. And Kel told her ALL the time. Pretty much nonstop. And that she still nurses 1-2 times a day, and that she is drinking whole milk. She is very healthy - as in super active, and she doesn't look unhealthy. So - no need to worry. She is just little!
Poor baby had to get 2 shots and this made her super irritable for a few days. Also, her poor little area. You know how they say the skin on a boys pen!s can reattach itself? Well, we learned that little girl's areas can do something similar. We had never heard of this before. But poor Kel had to hold Caelyn's legs apart while the dr detached what had grown back. She said he used one of those long q-tip things that they use to swab your throat to check for strep. It makes me queasy thinking about it. Poor Caelyn. My poor little girl. Trying to put vaseline on it was rough, cause she of course would fight. (just changing a diaper is a challenge already) Probably scared to death that we were going to cause her pain like the damn dr did.
She is right on target for everything. Has been walking since 10 months, so now she is a pro! And prefers to run. Which is super cute to watch, cause she swings her left arm back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth. (I will get this on video!) She likes to play Ready. Set. GO!!! Which is she will walk a distance away from you, squat down like she is in a take off stance, and wait for you to say ready. set. GO! - then she takes off and runs (swinging that left arm!) and then she plows right into your awaiting arms! And then will do it over, and over and over! She LOVES to read. She will pick out different books, and then bring them to you several times a day. If you are sitting on the floor, she turns around, and then backs up into your lap. If sitting in a chair or on the couch, she will reach her arms out for you to pick her up. She just absolutely adores Gryfinn. She thinks everything he does is so funny! And they are really cute together when they are playing. Cause they will just laugh and laugh and laugh! She says Mama, and sometimes Mommy. We swear that when looking at pictures (which she loves to do!) that she will try and say Gryfinn, Jarrod and Jaykie. Here are some of the words that she says a lot : duck, go, more, no ( more like no no no no no while she shakes her head!), kitty, meow, dog, woofwoof, hi and hello (walks around with the phone up to her and says helllllloo!). That is all I can think of right now. I swear at times it seems as if she repeats things we say. Or she will be babbling, and we swear that she just said something super complicated for a one year old! And never have any of our boys ever kept us on her toes so much. She puts EVERYTHING in her mouth. Rocks, dog food, caps to bottles, nasty cigarette butts at the ball field, and if there is a crumb of food anywhere on the floor - she will find it, and put it in her mouth, and I will see that look that says 'I have just put something in my mouth' from across the room, which makes me make a mad dash to dig out whatever it is that she has put in there now - and then I am so relieved to find that it is just a cap'n crunch that Gryfinn must have dropped earlier, and not a dead lady bug (yep, has happened)! And this little girl has a guardian angel (or 2, or 3 or 4!). She is a climber, and she has no fear. She can climb out of the bath tub, over laundry baskets, out of her high chair, and with Kel and I standing an arms length away, talking, she got out of the strap, stood up and fell. Thank goodness Oliver's dog bowl stand was right next to her chair, so she landed on that - which wasn't as far down as it was to the ground. She makes my heart stop atleast once a day, but usually more around 10. And she is the sweetest, most loveable thing ever! When holding her, she will wrap her legs around you and just squeeeeeze! She will run up to you and wrap her arms around your legs and just squeeeeeze! She puckers up and kisses, and makes the sweetest mmmmmmmmmmuuuuaaaah sound when she does! And once she gives one kiss, she is ready to kiss everyone in the room! And she just loves baby dolls and stuffed animals. She will hug them and kiss them, and carry them around, and lay down and just snuggle them. She is the sweetest, most rotten little girl! And we are all wrapped around her itty bitty little finger!
The pic's below are from my cell. So the quality isn't the best. Still have not fixed the laptop.

At the ball field. She was a mess! Covered in dirt
from head to toe! (and around her mouth, from the
umpteen million rocks she kept putting in there!)

Having a blast with the water that was squirting
off of the slip-n-side! She was soaked!!

She is such a water baby! We could not keep her
off of it!

Presious! She is getting to be a big girl....I love that age
How adorable. Our baby is a water baby as well, she loves to play in the sink or pool or even a glass of water. She will dump it on her head if you give her a chance. It goes too fast, doesn't it?
She is totally adorable. I can relate to the everything in the mouth thing! It will only get worse on that front. Enjoy this age it goes wayyyyyyy too fast.
SOOOO glad you took the muddy picture. That is great.
She sounds like she's doing great. Small but great.
I can't believe she's trying to say all of the names of your family. That's amazing. I wouldn't say right on track but TOTALLY advanced and BRILLIANT. CHA ! ;-)
All the pictures are adorable! What a sweet baby girl... growing up so fast!!!
Such a beautiful tiny little girl! That was a great 1 year update. So sorry to hear about her little fused area...I can't stand when the little ones are uncomfortable or in pain! Too cute that she backs up into your lap to read books...Maddie does the same exact thing. She is also a fearless climber too! Dawn and I also have stopped hearts several times a day after witnessing some of her acrobatics, so I know just how you feel! Love the pictures, gettin' dirty and wet! Our little water babies seem to have a lot in common. :)
